Alt Reading Awards – Event of the Year

After hundreds of nominations and thousands of votes – we are very excited to reveal the winners of the Alt Reading Awards.

Each year there are hundreds of fantastic events that happen across Reading: from small, community-run events to massive festivals. Event of the Year recognises those events which try and provide something unique to do in Reading.

The winner of Event of the Year is the Are You Listening? Festival. The festival is a one-day music event that encompasses many venues and dozens of bands across Reading. The festival acts as a platform for local artists as well as supporting local charity, Reading Mencap.

Speaking about receiving the award, co-organiser – Dave Maul – said: “It was great to be nominated and to win the Alt Reading Award for Event of the Year. We were in a category with some other great events so we were really chuffed.”
