Food, drinks and films at Reading Station’s pop-up village

A pop-up village will transform the area outside of Reading Station into an outdoor destination featuring street food, cocktails, cinema and activities for four weeks this Summer.

Launching on 10th June, The Village at Station Hill hopes to become the go-to destination in Reading this Summer with a variety of pop-up cocktail bars and outdoor dining courtesy of some of Berkshire’s best street food vendors.

In addition to the street food and cocktail bars, visitors to The Village will be able to enjoy 9-hole mini golf, ping pong tables, as well as a giant movie screen playing popular movies and highlights from Euro 2016.

The Village is the latest Reading based project from WePop, the organisers behind The Apres Bar ski lodge at Reading Winter on Ice last December.

Jonathan Wae from WePop said: “After the success of the Apres Bar we were looking to launch a summer based pop-up event in Reading. It took a while to find the right spot and we are really excited to be part of the new Station Hill development.

“We are hoping the area to become a hub of social activity in Reading with something for everyone.”

The Village at Station Hill will be running for four weeks from 10th June. Visit their Facebook page for further information and updates.

This sounds like it could be fun – at the very least, a good dip in the water for using that space outside the station.
